Water Solutions Best for Your Pond

There are various water solutions available for your ponds and lake today. These water solutions are now provided by lots of business establishments. They just do not solely cater for the water solution needs of their customers; they also provide it to other business establishments that need their product.

Great environmental stress present in the pond is the leading cause of fish deaths in the pond. A very specific example of these environmental stress is oxygen depletion. The blooming of algae in the pond is also one of the reasons for the loss of oxygen in the pond. Algae are credited for making the oxygen during daylight hours. But plants use that oxygen the algae made and take oxygen out of the water at night time. When oxygen supply is depleted because of the prolific blooming of algae and the use of oxygen by plants at night then fish deaths occur.

When algae die unexpectedly, it can also be the cause of oxygen depletion. Algae death in the ponds may also be triggered by natural circumstances or by applying chemical treatments specifically made for algae like algaecides. If these unexpected deaths happen, then the algae present in your pond or lake will not be able to process the needed oxygen supply in your pond. As a consequence, the oxygen level in your pond is very minimal because it has undergone severe loss. What is even worse? The oxygen present in your water will be depleted even more when the algae present in your pond which had died started to decompose. An hour after the algae has died, fish are observed to search for oxygen at the water surface of the pond.

Ponds ponds are only equipped with enough amount of oxygen to sustain the fish in it. If the oxygen solely intended for the fish will be used up by other living things then this environmental balance of your pond can be turned upside down. The survival of your fish is greatly affected by the temperature of the pond especially when it rises. It can also be affected when you provide minimal or no aeration at all.

The algae present in your pond can be controlled naturally or chemically. Chemical algal control may harm other useful bacteria. I think you might want to clean your pond if you noticed that it is already full of algae to avoid fish loss. Take out your fish, drain your pond and then scrub it well before putting back the fishes in the pond. To add filter to your pond beneficial bacteria may also be bred. You can then provide more oxygen in the pond by installing oxygen pumps, fountains and aerator.
